Masterclass STCW & MLC-2006

At the request of a client to gain insight into the paperwork of STCW & MLC-2006 requirements, we have developed a one-day training for crewing departments of shipping companies and maritime staffing agencies. It is essential to ensure that seafarers board with sufficient certification and that all labor conditions are met. This is not always easy. Often, this leads to challenges in daily practice or difficult situations with maritime authorities, eventually resulting in detention.

Possible problems include a certificate obtained from a non-recognized (international) training institute, a certificate without the (correct) STCW code, incorrect format of medical certificate, a CoC  that does not meet Minimum Safe Manning requirements, issues with a seafarer because both parties are unaware of the (minimum) requirements of the employment contract, and detention during Port State Control due to lack to non-compliance with the correct labor conditions according to MLC-2006.

This training is offered in the form of an interactive workshop where we delve into the structure of the Maritime Regulatory Framework and learn through case studies how and where to find and apply the correct STCW & MLC-2006 regulations.

The next open enrollment training is scheduled for March 31, 2025, but we also offer this training in-company, completely custom-built. Feel free to contact us for further information.
