New version of COVID-19 Contingency Plan published by IL&T (rev.10)
The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate has published version 10 of its COVID-19 Contingency Plan, valid from July 1, 2022. The plan contains guidelines for maintaining the certification of ships and crew during the pandemic. Download the new version here.
PMOU Polar Inspection Campaign
The Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (Paris MoU) will launch an inspection campaign to verify compliance with the requirements of the Polar Code. The inspection campaign will be held from Monday 13 June to Friday 1 July 2022 (first period) and from Monday 1 August to Friday 19 August 2022 (second period). IL&T launches updated STCW list
The scope of the undertaking is understood to comprise the recognition of Certificates of Competency issued and endorsed for masters, officers and radio operators in accordance with the provisions of STCW Convention, 1978, as amended, Annex, Chapters II, III, IV and VII, as well as Certificates of Proficiency issued in accordance with the provisions of STCW Convention, 1978, as amended, Annex, Chapters V and VI. https://puc.overheid.nl/nsi/doc/PUC_86961_14/5/

The Shipping Accident Reports of the Dutch Safety Board (OVV) show that almost half of the incidents at sea involve an industrial accident. Sector organizations KVNR, the Association of Water Builders and the Fisheries Sector Council Foundation are joining forces with this awareness campaign (initiated by the KNRM and together with the maritime trade union Nautilus International).
